Top Popular Press Books for Economics Students

by Jadrian Wooten & M. Jared McEntaffer

In the summer of 2016, we reached out to various faculty and institutions around the world and asked what popular press books would they recommend to their students. The initial goal was to help a group of students who were interested in starting a book club, but the responses turned out to be much more interesting. The top recommendations are linked below (to their Amazon page). The research letter is currently a working manuscript that is undergoing revisions for publication.

We received responses from 117 different individuals who recommended 150+ books. The following Top 10 all received at least 8 nominations as a top book that would be recommended to students.

Freakonomics
Misbehaving
Thinking, Fast and Slow
Predictably Irrational
Nudge
Naked Economics

Super Freakonomics
